Non-Profit of the Month
The Entrepreneur Empowerment Foundation
This Month's Nonprofit spotlight is Nadjege Casimir. Nadjege Casimir is the Executive Director of The Entrepreneur Empowerment Foundation. The mission of TEEF is to empower the community to become entrepreneurs and provide a financial incubator for micro grants to help develop businesses. In order to accomplish their mission to support entrepreneurs, in January 2017, Nadjege created the event Urban Soup in order to help provide micro grants for small businesses. This quarterly event creates a space for Phoenix residents and supporters to connect, share ideas, and resources. To date, Urban Soup has awarded two small businesses with micro grants totalling $1600. This donation based event is a community style dinner that provides fund seeking entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their initiatives to the larger community. Featured businesses provide services that range from art, food, and education, to social justice, technology and more.
Nadjege is first generation Haitian American from New Jersey. She relocated to Arizona in 2000 and received her Bachelor's in Science at Arizona State University in 2004.
